SEMINAR:  AKC A Course "From Gate to Gate"

Keepstone Farm's Susan Rhoades is offering a one day handling clinic centered around handling the AKC A Course.

The focus is to understand what elements make up the course, how to handle each element and what skills are needed.

Space is *UNLIMITED*.  Pre-registration preferred, but not required. Y'all come! :)

A limited supply of AKC rulebooks with be available.

Part 1 - Overview   
Obstacles & Lines, a general description.
Understanding Basic Scoring, review and description of points deductions.
Retiring. Recognizing "lack of progress".

Part 2 - Started A Sheep - Walking the Course
Before the Outrun. When to enter, when to send your dog.
Outfun strategies.
Lines - Y-Chute, Z-Chute, Runway Panel
Cross-Drive & Pen
Recovering from mistakes.

Part 3 - Intermediate/Advanced A Sheep - Walking the Course
Intermediate handling lines/strategies (i.e. thinking ahead to Advanced)
Y-Chute. Driving, handling, necessary skills.
Hold/Exam Pen. Pressure. How many ways can sheep come out? What constitutes an escape?
Cross-drive. Making the 4.

Part 4 - Applying the above to ducks/cattle.
